So we were in Denver again in October for Patrick to run in the Denver Marathon. Patrick did awesome- he ran the marathon in 3 hours 50 mins and met his goal of not walking throughout the race. He is already talking about when he does the next one and how he can improve his time and train more!

We also spent some time with our good friends the Williams and the Deets at the Williams cabin in the mountains in Alma (outside of Breckenridge/Dillon area). We had such a wonderful time. We did a corn maze (halfway through because it was getting cold, dark, and the kids were getting restless!) We also had an adults only night out with the Deets and went to White Chocolate Grill by Park Meadows mall- we had such a fun time and good food. The kids had a babysitter and slept the whole time.

We also got to spend some time with Andy and Liz. Liz ran in the half marathon so they were there to help Amelia and me cheer Patrick onto the finish line. They also helped me take care of Patrick after the race and drive him back home before lunch. We then ate lunch downtown at one of our favorites Ted Montana Grill and Amelia sat in a highchair for the first time!

We miss Colorado and all of our friends there so much. Thankfully, we are lucky to be able to have the opportunity to go back and visit frequently.

Razorback game #3

How funny is this view from behind?

Well this was Amelia's 3rd Razorback football game and she did pretty well. We made it through about 30 minutes of the 1st quarter before we had to let her go inside and crawl around. Amelia is getting into more and more things though. Her new favorite thing to do is go through her diaper bag and throw everything out. She got a hold of her formula holder which is a plastic container that hold her powder formula in 3 dividers. She managed to open this and dumped out the powder on the blanket. Then somehow she also got a hold of one of my ketchup packets from my corn dog and got ketchup on the back of her outfit and on the blanket.....

Then magically right before half time (and right before we were about to lose it!) my parents came and whisked her away to the box they were sitting in. Patrick and I actually had a chance to watch the game!

We took our friends Tom and Sydney and their little girl Stella who is 13 months. Stella did awesome and even took a little nap right in the middle of the game! Amelia went to sleep towards the end of the game and my was asleep when my mom was carrying her out of the stadium. Here are some pictures from the big day.

Happy Halloween- a week late!

Well little Miss Amelia was sick for her first Halloween and didn't get to go trick or treating. She got a bad cough that started on Friday night October 30th. She was up several times that night and it was very obvious that she wasn't feeling well. We took her to the sick clinic that our pediatric clinic has on Saturday mornings from 9-12. She was given the diagnosis of croup which basically means that she had a runny nose and a really bad cough- the books all say the cough souns like a "barking seal" I just thought she sounded more like an old lady that had smoked all her life! Poor little thing couldn't cry and had such a sad sounding cough. Needless to say we had a really LONG weekend. The only thing you can really do for croup is use a humidifier, turn on the shower for the hot steam, or go outside where the air is colder. We did all of the above and one especially long night I stood in the shower holding Amelia so she could breathe. Luckily, she is feeling much better now and is back to her happy self.

We decided we couldn't let the adorable fairy princess costume go to waste so we got her dressed up to go and visit her great-grandmothers and her grandparents. Getting her costume on her proved to be quite the ordeal though so hopefully these pictures will work for everyone else we weren't able to visit. We had grand plans to take her to some neighbors and friends too but the simple task of 3 stops proved to be more than enough for us!
