Amelia now is using her high chair for eating rice cereal and oatmeal. My parents gave her the high chair for part of our mother's day and father's day gifts. Here are some pictures of Amelia eating sweet potatoes for the first time and showing off her new high chair. We have also now tried sweet potatoes and avocados. The sweet potatoes went really well the first time we tried but not so good this week. The avocados did not go over well- she made a really horrible face and gagged! That's all for now! She still isn't officially crawling yet but it won't be long. We will keep you updated!

Long time no post- a bunch of new pictures
Okay- so it has been a really long time since I have posted any pictures or updates, but we have been really busy. We have had a lot of firsts too. Amelia went to her first Razorback game- GO HOGS! I celebrated my 30th Birthday, Patrick and I took our first overnight trip without Amelia to Mt. Magazine for my birthday, and then I went to Washington DC for a girls trip for 3 days without my little angel! I did sleep in which was much needed and came back rested. I swear she changed a ton while I was gone.
Amelia has also started to get herself ready for crawling. She started getting up on all fours and shakes her butt in the air- it won't be long until she is mobile and all over the place! I will post a couple of pictures from our new adventures to get everyone up to date

Grandma Ann's Visit
After church
Patrick's mom came into town on September 2-September 8th. She hadn't seen Amelia since April when she was 4 weeks old- so she had really changed. We did lots of fun things with Grandma Ann was here- we ate a Tim's Pizza, had a big family dinner, went to the farmer's market, went to church, went to the lake, and ate three homemade dinners! Yum! Ann cooked for us two nights and it was great to have a home cooked meal- we haven't had a lot of time to cook those since Amelia arrived on the scene. Here are some pictures from our fun times together!
Erin's Visit
My good friend and old roommate from College came into town to visit and meet Amelia! Amelia loved Erin and they had a lot of fun playing tea party. Erin also informed me she is a faithful follower of our blog-so these pictures are for you Erin!! Thanks for reading and looking at all the pictures too! Hope you like these and I can't wait for my trip (without Amelia!) to visit you in D.C.

Loving it~~
Okay so Ameila has just all the sudden become a little lady and is no longer a tiny baby. I swear that she has changed so much in the past week. Everyone at church today was commenting on how much bigger she looked and how much more alert she is. She got a great report from church nursery today too. It was not the usual volunteers in there today so I warned them that Amelia could sometimes be a little "high maintenance" but they said she was a perfect angel! Hum- are we talking about the same child? Anyway- Amelia is a lot less fussy and more interested in the world around her. She is now smiling a lot for other people and loves to be carried around to see all the new things in her world. Here are some new pictures from today. Yes, I put a bow on her head and she did look very cute. Don't count on a bow everyday, but I am warming up to the idea. We went to church, our neighbors 2nd birthday party, and then to Tim's Pizza for dinner with some friends from Church. It was a great day! Too bad tomorrow is Monday!

Amelia
Amelia is doing so many new tricks each day. She is really starting to be able to sit up well on her own now- here is a picture I took of her sitting up in her bathtub. She is also starting to be able to reach out to me when she wants me to hold her and it is really sweet. She really is changing and growing more each day!

Grandpa Pat's Visit
Patrick's Dad Pat came into town on Wednesday night for a quick visit. He hadn't seen Amelia since the very end of May, so she had changed quite a lot. Both Patrick and I have been surprised by how in love with Amelia since the beginning. Amelia took awhile to warm up to Pat since she has just recently started being scared of strangers. Pat offered to watch her while we were both working on Thursday. After her being so fussy on Wednesday, I was scared to leave her with him-she can be quite a pill when she is angry !
I put her down for a nap on Thursday morning and called an hour later for a report. Pat said she only took a 10 minute nap and woke up with spit up all in her hair and on her face. Great! He said she calmed down when he took her outside to hear the rain. Later, they took a nap together on the couch, played, ate, and ultimately bonded! These are some pictures my mom took when she came to take over so Pat could catch his plane. We love you Grandpa Pat- see you again soon!!!

Time....
Rice Cereal time- Amelia likes to hold the spoon!!
Okay, so I really wonder what I did with all of my time before a baby. Surely, I should have been able to get more done than I am able to now.....Amelia doesn't understand that when she only takes naps for 10 minutes that is almost more unhelpful because I get something started but then am not able to finish it. I keep thinking that when she is older and more independent I might be able to get more done. However, I think that each new stage also brings different kinds of challenges (crawling, walking, etc).
Anyway- she took a pretty good nap today and I have had some time to check email and try to take care of my responsibilities for the Junior League. I am not quite sure why I volunteered to vice chair a committee since I can't even keep my own life in order, but I did!! So, I hope you can understand why this blog won't be updated daily or even weekly. I will try to do it as often as I can but I think it is truly more important for me to play with Amelia on the floor than write about her! So here are some new pictures- enjoy!!!

Denver
Okay, so we just got back from Denver last night after a week there. Let me just start off by saying it it so much harder traveling with a baby! I don't know how single parents do it because Patrick and I were having a hard time keeping up with all of the baby gear and Amelia with just the two of us. I used to see people with kids and think that it was their own fault for traveling with kids... now I know better.
We had such an amazing time- a different trip than normal but great. We started off in Ft. Collins to see my friend Sarah McCormack Warren and family. Sarah and I studied in England together 9 years ago- time really flies. Then we headed to Denver to show off Miss Amelia to all our old work buddies and friends. We got to our amazing friends the Deets house on Thursday night. The Deets' kids were so cute and sweet to Amelia when they met her that night. Patrick ran in his race from Ft. Collins to Steamboat Springs from Friday-Saturday. Melissa and I watched the kids and about pulled our hair out but somehow managed to keep it together. Then on Saturday night we had the big bbq at the Deets with all our Denver buddies. It was such a great feeling to be back in Denver. We miss it and our friends there so much. If only we could combine all the things we love about Arkansas and Denver and have it in one place. Here are some pictures of our trip.

Here we go
Okay, my blog is far from perfect and I still don't really know what I am doing, but this blog is supposed to be for friends and family to check in on how much Amelia is growing and changing. Plus, if I know other people are looking at my blog, I will be much more likely to update pictures and videos. So, hopefully you will like it and hopefully, I will keep it updated!! Enjoy!
